The gear head housing is the protective shell around the main drive gears – it keeps the lubrication in, the dust out and holds the bearings and gears in correct alignment while you cut, polish and finish.
After years in a panel shop or detailing bay, the original housing can be knocked, cracked, stripped or distorted, and the screws can lose their bite.
The POL05-SK02 kit replaces the gear box housing and its fastening screws (items 14 and 20 on the parts diagram) so you can rebuild the head of the tool to factory-tight, solid condition.
